About

"…we bring forth unique ideas and strategies that are congruent with our clients’ social and environmental values."

The Epic Story

Epic Capital Wealth Management was founded in 2009 out of a desire to create a boutique financial planning experience where the sole focus is on the individualized and specialized needs of our clients. These are individuals and couples that realize the power of their wealth and what it can do not only for their families but for the greater good in the world. There has been a growing disenchantment with the big banks and Wall Street and what many regard as their lavish focus on short-term results at the expense of things that we truly value. Many of our clients are impact investors who believe in making investment choices based on positive values and things that matter to them personally, steering away from many mainstream investment strategies that neglect those very same values.

We do what any highly regarded financial planning and investment management firm does, we just take it several steps further and give our clients the opportunity to align their investments with their purpose and beliefs, so they can leave a family legacy that touches the lives of many. We are specialists in the area of impact investing and we bring forth unique ideas and strategies that are congruent with our clients’ social and environmental values. Impact investing is not an asset class; it’s a lens through which one looks when constructing an investment portfolio. We work in partnership with our clients in designing the optimal financial planning and investment management strategies that satisfy their heart and mind, and is in accordance with their wealth management, philanthropic, and legacy planning goals.

…we bring forth unique ideas and strategies that are congruent with our clients’ social and environmental values.

The Epic Experience

Everything we do here at Epic Capital is a direct reflection of our passion and sincere personal interest in helping to better the lives of our clients. Whether it is something as simple as educating clients on fundamental investment strategies that can help to make them better investors, or something as detailed as aligning their core personal values in planning for the day when their legacy will become a reality – we spend the amount of time that is needed with each and every client. We are there for them, and we are there for their family, when they need us.

We customize each and every client relationship, and allow each client to dictate the amount of interaction or the frequency of the interaction that they have with their advisor. This allows our clients to be as involved or as uninvolved as they would like to be, based on the amount of time that they feel they have available. We value our client’s time, and we respect the fact that they have lives outside of their finances. Their comfort comes in the fact that they know there is always a second set of eyes watching over their assets when they are out fulfilling their life’s other interests or obligations. This is as important to us, as it is to them.

We value our client’s time, and we respect the fact that they have lives outside of their finances.

The Epic Idea

Epic Capital’s foundation was built upon one simple idea. This idea is actually often preached, but seldom practiced. An idea so simple, that it must be easily overlooked or too obvious to see, because most “big” investment firms have seemingly lost sight of it. The idea stems from our relationships with clients for whom we have worked with for over twenty years. Our one simple idea is this: every client is unique and different than any other client; therefore each and every portfolio and investment plan should be unique and different than any other portfolio or plan of any other client.

We don’t define our clients by the wealth that they have created. We define our clients as individually-minded successful individuals that are fathers and mothers to their children, husbands and wives to their spouses, grandfathers and grandmothers, community involved neighbors, and friends or co-workers to an even greater numbers of individuals that they have met over their lifetime. Our clients have an impact on the lives of others – each and every day – in some way, some form, or some fashion. We respect this, and we respect them – each and every day. Money does not define someone; money simply helps define the things that are important to someone – and we look to find out what those things are.

Our clients have an impact on the lives of others… Money does not define someone; money simply helps define the things that are important to someone

The Epic Difference

Epic Capital differs greatly from the mass-marketed investment firms, and we pride ourselves on that fact. We differ because we take the time to get to know you, to get to know what got you to where you are today, and where you want to be tomorrow. We take the time to understand your attitudes toward money and its value in your life, and potentially the lives of others. We look not only at your financial goals but also at your dreams – for yourself, for your family, for your community, and for your legacy. In fact we take this discussion as far back and as far forward as we feel we need to, to determine how to best create your individualized wealth plan. This is a proprietary process that we’ve created known as the Wealth Walk™. It will be the most detailed discussion that you will ever have about money, its function in your life thus far, and its purpose in your life going forward. This is only the beginning of the Epic Experience, but it sets the foundation for our relationship, and everything else that follows.

We take the time to understand your attitudes toward money and its value in your life, and potentially the lives of others.

Come experience the Epic Experience for yourself, we welcome the opportunity to meet with you.

The phrase “impact investing” has become the lead moniker chosen to represent several purpose-driven or values-driven strategies that have evolved over the last two decades. Other names such as “sustainable investing”, “socially responsible investing or sustainable, responsible and impact (SRI)”, “corporate social responsibility (CSR)”, “environmental, social and governance (ESG)”, all seem to have been folded-up … Continue reading “Impact Investing: Performance, Purpose and Positioning”

“Conscious” Capitalism? An oxymoron it is not. It is a movement sweeping across the globe and growing in size, popularity and in the impact that it is having for those business leaders who embrace it. It, in my opinion, should become the standard by which businesses are evaluated for investment and judged in the court … Continue reading “Why We Embrace Conscious Capitalism®”

This is the first time that I’ve ever posted an article from someone else, but this particular article struck me. Maybe it’s because I still consider myself a fairly new father with a 19-month old and an “almost” 3-year old at home. Simply enough, I thought this was worth sharing. In fact I believe anything … Continue reading “How to Live a Beautiful Life”
